NEXTPAKK: CREATING A SHARED ECONOMY FOR LAST-MILE LOGISTICS

Have you ever wondered how effective and efficient last-mile delivery will become if the whole delivery tasks aren’t shouldered by just a group of persons? I guess you have never thought about it.

With the growth of the internet and ecommerce platforms, the supply and demand of e-commerce have greatly increased, and this has also led to various challenges to both customers and logistics company’s because at the moment there isn’t enough hands to handle the vast number of packages received on a daily basis.

CHALLENGES FACING LAST-MILE DELIVERY

The following are problems which now exist in last-mile logistics delivery, and am sure some of you would have had some experiences with it.

  • Delay in delivery: a few logistics company’s have a means by which individuals to can track their products. So many times, I believe you have had experiences where your packages which were supposed to be delivered in the space of 4 days end up taking way more than that number. The fault doesn’t lye with ecommerce platforms but with last-mile deliveries because most times you find out your product has arrived at the dispatch centre but later end up taking a couple of more days to get to your door step due to one difficulty or another
  • Lack of enough room in dispatch centres: logistics company’s also run into this challenge often which end up leading to the number 1 problem, as there is always a lot of squabbles on where to fit in new packages when there is a high level of demand from customers, especially in festive seasons.

INTRODUCING NEXTPAKK

NEXTPAKK is a last-mile delivery logistic company built on PAKKA blockchain to help relieve the delivery time of last-mile delivery by employing a sharing economy technique in other to bring about a new and efficient last-mile delivery system.

Blockchain and sharing economy were collective in creating the NEXTPAKK and the currency in which the company will be operating, the company will be creating a minimal-infrastructure ecosystem intended to eliminate the problems in last-mile delivery.

PROJECTS SOLUTION

The blockchain since its inception have been responsible for disrupting various industries who have utilized this technology and so as sharing economy. This is why NEXTPAKK is utilizing the PAKKA blockchain to create a decentralized platform where business owners will be able to register their shops as the platform distributed centre. Also, the platform will also allow local drivers to register on the platform where they will be used to deliver customer packages to their doorstep effectively.

This shared economy will eliminate the problems faced by last-mile delivery logistics company’s because this way, there will be enough hands to facilitate door to door delivery and also enough package delivery places.

FINAL THOUGHTS

The platform will also have reward system where local businesses offering their shops as package delivery places and local drivers will effectively be rewarded, using the platforms cryptocurrency (PAKKA).

The platform will also be making use of smart contracts and escrow system, to make sure no party involved in a transaction in cheated. Customers gets to make payment immediately after making order, payment is held by escrow and only delivered to platform after package have been confirmed to have arrived in his/her custody. The smart contract is used to distribute the funds to drivers, PDPs and the platform.

I have to say the NEXTPAKK strategy is really interesting and that I have full assurance that this project will have a significant impact on last-mile delivery.
